Court closes Insys subsidiary cases while lead case stays open
The court granted the Insys Liquidation Trust’s request for a final decree closing six subsidiary Chapter 11 cases: IC Operations, Insys Development Company, Insys Manufacturing, Insys Pharma, IPSC, and IPT 355. The Final Decree leaves the Insys Therapeutics, Inc. lead case open and directs future filings to use an amended caption for “Insys Therapeutics, Inc., Liquidating Debtor.”
The order is an administrative wind-down step rather than a full end to the estate. The Trust remains authorized to prosecute claims and defenses, pursue recovery actions, make distributions, and handle remaining affairs, and the court retained jurisdiction to interpret and enforce the decree. The closed subsidiary estates also can be reopened for cause. For professionals tracking the case, the practical change is docket and cost consolidation: post-closing activity now flows through the lead case, and the Trust is relieved from post-closing reporting and U.S. Trustee fee obligations for the closed subsidiary cases once required final reports and accrued fees are handled.
