The Elkhart Collection, curated by Najeeb Khan, founder and former CEO of Interlogic Outsourcing Inc., has drawn attention not just for its extraordinary assortment of vehicles but also for the scandal that led to its liquidation. According to the Associated Press, Khan’s payroll processing company collapsed into bankruptcy last year following what investigators described as a “complex scheme” carried out by Khan himself. A lawsuit filed by KeyBank alleges he conducted $122 million in fraudulent wire transfers. Adding to the fallout, the South Bend Tribune reported multiple clients accused him of withdrawing funds from their accounts, money intended for tax payments, but never forwarding those payments to the IRS. Khan resigned from his company and declared bankruptcy in October. Now, RM Sotheby’s is auctioning off his remarkable car collection to repay creditors. And what a collection it is. Spanning nearly a century of automotive history, the lineup includes everything from highly collectible prewar masterpieces to modern performance icons. Standouts include a 1935 Auburn Eight Supercharged Speedster, a 1961 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint by Bertone, and a 1963 Auto Union 1000 S Coupe. There’s also a 1924 Bentley 3–4½ Litre Four-Seater by Vanden Plas, a 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz, and a 1966 Citroën DS21 Décapotable by Chapron. Further gems include a 1937 Cord 812 Supercharged Cabriolet, a 1933 Dodge Brothers H44 Tow Truck, a 1961 Facel Vega HK500, and even a 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. Ferrari fans will find an impressive spread ranging from a 1952 225 S Berlinetta and 1972 Dino 246 GT to modern machinery like the 488 Spider. The Fiat selection is equally surprising, featuring everything from a 1953 Fiat 8V Supersonic to a 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth.
