Brazos Electric Power Cooperative, Inc. is a Waco, Texas-based generation and transmission electric cooperative founded in 1941. Serving 16 member-owner distribution cooperatives across 68 Texas counties, the organization operates a 4,000-megawatt system comprising three natural gas-fired plants, coal-fired interests, and renewable energy agreements. The cooperative maintains 2,682 miles of transmission lines and 385 substations. With over 370 employees, it provides wholesale power to support retail service for approximately 700,000 meters in the Dallas/Fort Worth region and beyond.
