ViewRay converts to Chapter 7 after Chapter 11 wind-down
The court converted ViewRay, Inc. and ViewRay Technologies, Inc. from Chapter 11 to Chapter 7 effective October 26, 2023, shifting the case from debtor-led restructuring to trustee-administered liquidation under the conversion order. The order dissolved the official committee and discharged committee professionals immediately, while also discharging debtor professionals except to the extent Faegre Drinker and Berkeley Research Group assist with conversion tasks.
The order set near-term handoff deadlines that matter for anyone tracking claims, fees, and remaining estate administration: books and records must be turned over to the Chapter 7 trustee within 14 days of the trustee assuming duties; final fee applications are due 21 days after conversion; the debtors must file a final report and account within 30 days; and Stretto must wind down claims-agent duties, including docketing a final claims register. The U.S. Trustee appointed George L. Miller as Chapter 7 trustee the same day in the trustee appointment, making Miller the key fiduciary for remaining recoveries and distributions.
