Cano’s reorganized debtors asked to extend the claims-objection deadline from June 22, 2026 to December 21, 2026, keeping the post-confirmation claims reconciliation process open for another 180 days. The claims-objection deadline extension motionDkt. 1667 says more than 800 proofs of claim were filed, while the debtors have resolved more than 300 scheduled and filed claims totaling over $350 million.
The motion frames the extension as a way to keep negotiating and reconciling remaining claims without forcing avoidable litigation. Objections to the motion are due July 6, 2026, and the court set an August 13, 2026 omnibus hearing. The practical consequence is that disputed-claim cleanup, and therefore final certainty around remaining creditor recoveries, may continue well into late 2026 even though the plan was confirmed and effective on June 28, 2024.
