CX Reinsurance Company Limited is a London-based specialty insurance and reinsurance company incorporated in England and Wales in 1972 as Continental Casualty Company Limited. Prior to 2001, the company underwrote international property and casualty, professional liability, medical malpractice, and directors and officers risks, accumulating an estimated $2.2 billion in gross liabilities, more than half from U.S. operations. Since August 2001 it has operated in run-off. Regulated by the PRA and FCA, CX Re has been wholly owned by Tawa Associates Limited since 2014.
