Lehman reports $129.5 billion distributed after 32nd plan payment
Lehman Brothers Holdings filed its latest post-confirmation report showing the estate is still in active wind-down more than 14 years after the plan effective date. The company says the 32nd Plan Distribution occurred on April 2, 2026, reducing cash by $60 million, and that cumulative creditor distributions have reached $129.5 billion. The case remains open because one disputed Class 9A Third Party Guarantee Derivative claim remains unresolved, tied to Enasarco and Lehman Brothers Finance S.A. litigation in Switzerland, according to the Quarterly Chapter 11 Post-Confirmation Report.
The filing also gives professionals a current recovery and reserve readout: LBHI expects about GBP12 million, or roughly $16 million, from LBH PLC based on that affiliate's March 2026 base-case estimate, while estimated tax liability is $5.6 million as of April 2, 2026. The practical takeaway is that Lehman's wind-down is now a narrow tail-value and claims-resolution exercise, with creditor recoveries already massive but final closure still dependent on one remaining disputed claim and residual affiliate/tax matters.
