Liquidating Trustee closes out the estates
The wind-down closed in stages. On February 28, 2013, the court closed the Magellano, Cargoship and Seaarland cases as fully administered, leaving Marco Polo Seatrade as the surviving case for consolidated post-confirmation reporting and remaining administration source filing.
Final closure followed once Liquidating Trustee Christopher K. Kearns reported that the plan had been substantially consummated, all contemplated transactions had closed, all disputed claims, motions and adversary proceedings had been resolved, and all funds designated for distribution had been distributed between October 28 and December 29, 2014 source filing. On June 9, 2015, the court entered the final decree closing the MPS case, terminated Kurtzman Carson Consultants as claims and noticing agent, required outstanding U.S. Trustee fees within 10 days, and retained jurisdiction to reopen or enforce the plan, confirmation order or final decree source filing.
