Alpha Entertainment LLC reached effectiveness of its confirmed liquidation plan, as reported in the December 22, 2020 effectiveness notice Dkt. 604. Following court authorization of an asset sale, the case moved to liquidation-plan implementation and post-effectiveness claims administration; that notice established deadlines for professional-fee, administrative and rejection claims, but no later material milestone is specified.
Alpha Entertainment LLC’s April 13, 2020 Chapter 11 proceeding reached confirmation of a liquidation plan through the December 11, 2020 confirmation order Dkt. 592. The December 22, 2020 effectiveness notice Dkt. 604 subsequently reported plan effectiveness and established deadlines for professional-fee, administrative and rejection claims, placing the estate on a liquidation-plan implementation path.
Alpha operated the eight-team XFL, which began its inaugural season in February 2020. According to Jeffrey Pollack’s April 13, 2020 first-day declaration Dkt. 8, the COVID-19 pandemic forced cancellation of the remaining season on March 20, eliminating tens of millions of dollars in revenue while expenses continued. The resulting liquidity pressure drove the bankruptcy filing and a strategy of controlling wind-down costs, marketing assets and preserving potential going-concern value.
The court approved sale procedures on May 28, 2020 through the bidding-procedures order Dkt. 181 and authorized the sale of certain assets free and clear, together with specified contract and lease assignments, in the August 7, 2020 sale order Dkt. 358. A separate August 7 cash-collateral order Dkt. 356 authorized further interim use of cash collateral during that process.
The confirmed plan followed this sale process and provided the framework for liquidation. The latest dated filing is Donlin Recano’s March 31, 2025 address-change notice Dkt. 927, an administrative update. No later material implementation milestone is specified.
