Court closes FLYi Chapter 11 cases
The court entered a final decree closing the FLYi/Independence Air Chapter 11 cases, formally ending the bankruptcy docket more than five years after the November 7, 2005 petition date. The Final Decree closing the Chapter 11 cases also authorized the Distribution Trust and post-confirmation debtors to abandon and destroy debtor books and records, terminated the claims and noticing agent’s services, and granted related wind-down relief.
That matters because the case has moved from post-confirmation administration to docket closure: professionals tracking residual claims, distribution-trust administration, or record-retention issues now have a final court order marking the end of active Chapter 11 oversight.
