Hornblower’s reorganization plan became effective on July 3, 2024, and post-confirmation claims administration continues. On October 29, 2026, the court sustained a GUC Trust claims objection Dkt. 1051, reducing listed claims for amounts already paid; the claims agent was directed to update the register, and remaining claims may still be challenged.
Hornblower Holdings’ February 21, 2024 Chapter 11 filing led to confirmation of a reorganization plan on June 6, 2024, and plan effectiveness on July 3, 2024, as reflected in the confirmation order Dkt. 1388 and effective-date notice Dkt. 1549. The plan established a general unsecured claims trust and an American Queen Voyages wind-down company to administer assets and claims.
Claims reconciliation remains active. On October 29, 2026, the court sustained an omnibus objection Dkt. 1051 that reduced 97 listed claims to account for payments by Argonaut Insurance Company and directed the claims agent to update the register. The remaining claim amounts are unaffected by that order and may be subject to further objection. In a separate post-confirmation report Dkt. 1040 filed October 21, Hornblower Consulting reported that claims reconciliation was ongoing and left the anticipated date for a final decree application blank.
Hornblower entered Chapter 11 after pandemic disruptions, increased borrowing costs and continued underperformance at American Queen Voyages strained liquidity. Its first-day declaration Dkt. 25 described a restructuring support agreement contemplating debt equitization, a sale or wind-down of American Queen Voyages and separation of Journey Beyond. Identified debt was approximately $1,653,243,085 across seven of eight instruments with identified amounts, including group debt beyond the debtors.
The court’s final financing order Dkt. 343 authorized $300 million in senior and $285 million in junior debtor-in-possession facilities and use of cash collateral. The confirmation order Dkt. 1388 authorized exit financing and new equity as part of the reorganization; it also recorded acceptance by the impaired first-lien and revolver classes and rejection by the general unsecured and unsecured go-forward trade classes.
